Born in Brooklyn New York and raise in the Langston Hughes Apartments in Brownsville. Jose Roque's environment was surrounded by drugs, crime and poverty. To escape from the realities of life. Roque would draw and draw he did. Comic book characters and later on graffiti. To provide for himself financially as a teenager during the summer. Roque would ride the Brooklyn trains to 23rd Street in lower Manhattan to buy shirts wholesale. He would then return to Brownsville and set up shop on Pitkin Avenue. Roque would use a section of the sidewalk to lay down shirts as people walked the neighborhood stores to shop. He was always on the look out, making sure he himself didn't get robbed. This work provided him with income to help around the home as well as buy school apparel and supplies for the upcoming fall.

Fast forward to 2009 with a steady career working from print
shops to ad campaigns in several agencies in Miami, winning creative awards along the way. Roque, unemployed due to the recession and his wife Stephanie, a stay at home mom with a B.A. from U.M., joined forces to create Eye Xpose U. Abbreviated for their brand EyeXU and its thought provoking tag line Fashion We Dare To Wear. According to Roque, "EyeXU is all about bringing social, moral, and political issues to the forefront, while utilizing the t-shirt as a canvas of expression. We’re like the daily newspapers of t-shirts. Up on the latest events but with a fashionable twist." Stephanie saids, "EyeXU will be tapping in to all sorts of topics. Some might find offensive, while others won't. Please don’t ever take it personal. We at EyeXU strongly believe that a voice silenced will never have an impact for change."

This is just the beginning. As time goes on EyeXU will expand its line with cool, hip-looking hats as well as other apparel needs.
